Meet the Team
Dan Moss
I left school and became a mechanical engineer working on heavy plant equipment. After 8 years I know that it wasn’t going to be the life for me. I left my job and traveling to Japan for 6 months in which time I decided on my return to the UK I would pursue a career as a blacksmith. I graduated from Hereford Collage of arts in 2014 with a BA(Hons) first class in artist blacksmithing this is when I set up IAStudios. Wanting to grow a business around my passion for making IAStudios was born.
Elliott Warrington
Elliott started his journey as a blacksmith in 2016 with a school work experience placement and has been obsessed ever since, the following year he moved to Hereford to begin studying on a technical forge-work course, after completing this Elliott began the BA Artist Blacksmithing course at Hereford College of Arts.
Callum Simmons
Callum comes from a family of craftsmen and engineers. He spent most of his career in various walks of engineering. He started in motorsport interacting with complex and ever evolving mechanical assemblies on modern motorsport vehicles. Following this he worked on multiple architectural projects providing high end customers with bespoke, hand-crafted wooden installations from workshop to installation. He has carried these experiences with him into his recent years working as a blacksmith. Callum recently qualified from Hereford college of arts where he studied for a bachelor’s degree in artistic blacksmithing. As a blacksmith he has been involved in a plethora of projects from small household items to large entryway gates.
Who We Are
Industrial Art Studios was started by Dan in 2014 to design and make unique metal work using blacksmithing and fabrication skills, learnt on the degree course and working as a mechanical engineer.
He continues to teach at the National School of Blacksmithing in Hereford, where he met and helped both Elliott and Callum on their degree courses.
They are now a close knit, highly skilled team, who produce fantastic work and love the challenge of turning ideas into reality.
